Kasımpaşa confirm Galatasaray inquired about signing Trezeguet
The vice chairman of Turkish league side Kasımpaşa, Hasan Hilmi Öksüz, has affirmed that they received an official bid from Galatasaray to sell Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet to the latter club.
The 23-year-old winger had an incredible season with the Turkish side scoring 16 goals and assisting eight across all competitions, and was included in the Super Lig team of the year according to statistics website WhoScored.
Trezeguet’s remarkable season makes it inevitable that a set of clubs come forward in order to purchase him from Kasimpasa, who had redeemed him during last season.
“Galatasaray contacted us and asked to sign Trezeguet. However we informed them that Trezeguet is not for sale, he is one of our best players and the club president opted against selling him,” Öksüz told Turkish website FutbolArena.
“Trezeguet has a release clause in his contract with us that is worth 5 million euros and which would allow him to leave,” he added.
The former Al Ahly attacking midfielder is one of the prominent names that the Egyptians hold their hopes on with the Pharaohs ahead of the upcoming 2018 World Cup in Russia.
