Russia defender: Stopping Salah? Ramos showed us the way
Spartak Moscow and Russia central defender Ilya Kutepov has joked about the prospect of facing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and how to stop him when both meet in Russia-Egypt encounter in the World Cup 2018.
Salah had sustained a shoulder injury during the UEFA Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid after a duel with Los Merengues captain Sergio Ramos.
The 25-year-old later on underwent medical tests which proved that he suffered a strain in his left shoulder and his absence period should not exceed three weeks.
“How to stop Salah? For example, Sergio Ramos showed us one of the ways to stop Salah. I cannot say I am really upset with his injury,” Kutepov said.
“However I wish him [Salah] a speedy recovery. I am happy that Salah will be able to play in the World Cup, being able to play against such players is a great thing.”
Egypt will face Russia on the 19th of June in Group A’s matchday 2 following their opening game against Uruguay and before their final group stage match-up against Saudi Arabia.
