Ghana international Kingsley Sarfo condemned with rape
Ghanian footballer Kingsley Sarfo has been condemned of rape and sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for the offense he committed in Sweden.
Sarfo has joined Swedish giants Malmö FF in July 2017 in a deal that was worth 2 million euros coming from fellow Swedish club Sirius. He collected a single appearance in his first season.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been held in custody since February and couldn’t take part in any game for Malmö as a result of that, due to the rape crimes he has committed in September 2016 and June 2017.
Sarfo will pay 17 thousand USD for damages and will be deported from Sweden once he concludes his two years and eight months period in jail, the Malmö district court decided in its verdict. The player’s lawyer confirmed that the decision will be appealed.
Sarfo made his international debut with the Ghanaian national team against Uganda in the World Cup qualifications in October 2017. It was his only international cap with the Black Stars.
