Saudi FF increase foreign players’ quota

The have decided to increase the number of foreign players allowed per team in the Saudi Professional League to eight players.

Previously the SAFF announced that there could only be 7 players in their top division, but have now decided to increase it to 8 players, with one player on the bench, effective during the new season.

The Federation stressed in their statement that this decision was made to raise the technical level of the clubs in their domestic league. They are also aiming on increasing the level of competition between clubs.

Due to this decision, SAFF raised the number of accredited players in each team in the League to 30 players instead of 28, to accommodate the increase in the number of foreign players.

With the high surge of Egyptian players moving to Saudi, this means we could see some more heading there.
