Spain defeats Tunisia in the last friendly ahead of the World Cup
With organized defense from Coach Nabil Maaloul, Tunisia were able to stumble the Spanish offense and their domination over possession, failed to leave any positive impact.
The Eagles of Carthage put a lot of pressure on Spain’s backline on the counters, as the two most crucial opportunities of the first half came for the Tunisians, Ferjani Sassi had a clear cut chance from inside the box that was saved by David De Gea and Ali Maaloul sent a pinpoint cross to Naïm Sliti but Dijon’s player could not tap it in.
Spain’s first threat came after the break, when a cross from Sergio Ramos was deflected to reach David Silva who unleashed a left footed strike that went wide.
Five minutes before the final whistle Diego Costa dribbled past the Tunisian wall and gave a pass to Iago Aspas who fired the Spaniards goal to end the game 1-0 for the former World Cup champions.
