Egypt resume Uruguay game preparations
The Egyptian national team have continued their preparations in their training camp in Grozny, Russia ahead of their opening game against Uruguay on June 15 in the 2018 World Cup’s Group A.
The Pharaohs fell in an arguably reasonable group, in their first World Cup appearance since 1990, alongside Uruguay, the hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia.
Egypt had played three conclusive friendlies ahead of flying to Russia against Kuwait, Colombia and Belgium where they drew 1-1, 0-0 and lost 3-0 respectively. On the top of that, Hector Cuper’s men had conceded further two friendly defeats against Portugal and Greece in March.
Egypt took the Akhmat-Arena pitch for their second training session in the Chechen Republic capital despite the unsteady weather and the heavy rain that hit midway through training.
The entire squad participated in training including the injured Mohamed Salah who did a personalized workout under the guidance of the Pharaoh’s medical staff.
