Mahmoud Trezeguet linked with Olympique de Marseille move
Ligue 1 outfit Olympique de Marseille have been following Egypt international Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” for a possible transfer according to reports.
The French outfit have reportedly been closely following the 23-year old midfielder since Kasımpaşa’s 4-1 loss to Fenerbahçe on April 28. It is expected that OM will continue watching Trezeguet at the World Cup.
Ahmed Hossam Mido’s former club, who are currently coached by Mohamed Salah’s former coach Rudi Garcia, finished the league in fourth place with 77 points. The club was also runner-up in the Europa League after losing to Atlético Madrid in the final.
The Al Ahly youth product had a brilliant season in Turkey scoring 16 goals in 33 games across all competitions. His performances were also key in Egypt’s qualification to their first World Cup in 28 years.
However, OM will be facing competition in trying to win Trezeguet’s signature. Most recently Galatasaray, Watford, and Fiorentina have inquired about the midfielder. The reports come just two months after the Turkish side activated Trezeguet’s release clause from Belgian side Anderlecht.
Trezeguet and his teammates will begin their World Cup journey on June 15 against Uruguay before facing hosts Russia on June 19 and Saudi Arabia on June 25.
