Zamalek duo Mohamed Magdy, Mohamed El-Shamy move to Ismaily
Mohamed Magdy and Mohamed El-Shamy have completed permanent moves to Ismaily as part of Ibrahim Hassan’s transfer to Zamalek.
Zamalek signed its former youth player Ibrahim Hassan from Ismaily earlier this month, but the details of the deal had not been finalized and it has been revealed that Magdy and El-Shamy will be sold to Ismaily as part of the deal.
Mohamed El-Shamy moved to Zamalek from ENPPI in August 2017. The 22-year-old midfielder featured just 17 times for the White Knights, scoring one goal.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Magdy transferred to Zamalek from Al Masry in 2016 as a promising center back. However, injuries sidelined him for a majority of his time limiting him to just eight games.
Ismaily have made multiple signings this season in addition to Magdy and El-Shamy, including young striker Mahmoud Salah and Tunisian league top scorer Lassad Jaziri.
The signings come as Ismaily attempt to make a statement in the CAF Champions League next season and to potentially launch a title race after finishing in second place this season behind Al Ahly.
The Yellow Dragons also recently hired Algerian Kheïreddine Madoui to lead the team next season after parting ways with Portuguese coach Pedro Barny at the end of the season.
