Uruguay’s Lucas Torreira picks up light injury
Uruguay is set to face Egypt in the team’s opening of their World Cup campaigns on Friday in Group A which has Saudi Arabia and hosts, Russia, with them.
The Sampdoria midfielder picked up an injury in the team’s practice after he was seen having trouble running. However, diagnosis showed that the 22-year-old’s injury is not serious and does not exceed a heavy knock.
The young prodigy made his debut for Uruguay on March 2018 against Czech Republic. He also has another two international caps in La Celeste’s friendlies against Wales and Uzbekistan.
Uruguay is going to meet with Egypt in the group’s second match on Friday as Russia will take on Saudi Arabia in the competition opener on Thursday.
