El-Hadary: Football is a team sport, Salah vital for Egypt
Egypt legendary Goalkeepr Essam El-Hadary has insisted on the importance of Mohamed Salah to his national side, but simultaneously affirmed that it is not all about the Liverpool’s winger.
The 45-year old goalkeeper is ready to break the record of oldest player to feature in the World Cup in case he appears in any of the Pharaohs group stage games.
However, the former Al Taawoun goalkeeper insists that the personal record has to be shared among the whole team who help breaking these records, as football isn’t an individual sports.
“The personal record is for the national team, my teammates and everyone who help me reaching such a record. Football isn’t an individual sport, it’s a team sport, whenever there’s homogeneity success will exist,” El Hadary told beIN Sports on Tuesday.
“I have been always using Mohamed Salah as an example, he’s nothing without the national team players, and we are nothing without him,”
The Egyptian National team will kick off the World Cup campaign on the the 15th of June against Uruguay.
