Ismaily sign forward Christopher Mendouga on free transfer

Ismaily have announced the signing of Cameroonian forward on a free transfer from JS Kairouanaise.

The 27-year-old becomes manager Kheïreddine Madoui’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Tunisian striker Lassad Jaziri.

Mendouga scored six goals and provided two assists in 23 games with JS Kairouanaise last season, helping them finish eighth in the Tunisian league.

Overall he made 54 appearances for them since joining the club in January 2016, scoring 10 goals as well as assisting further six.

He also had a short stint at Algerian side MC Alger, joining them from Cameroonian side Apejes FC in 2015, but he managed to score only once in 12 games before being released.

The Yellow Dragons wanted to strengthen their squad after the departure of Colombian forward Diego Calderon to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Faisaly and Ibrahim Hassan, who moved to rivals Zamalek.

Ismaily finished off their 2017/2018 Egyptian Premier League campaign in the second place which guarantees them a spot in the upcoming version of the CAF Champions League.
