Ihab Leheta provides latest update on Mohamed Salah injury
Leheta echoed his recent statements about the player’s recovery process in which he pointed out the major progress the player is having, yet, he did not speak any further about his chances of playing the World Cup opener against Uruguay.
“He is much better now, but up till this point, we did not decide if he will be taking part in the first match or not,” Leheta told the press. “We did not make a decision about this yet but we’re following up his progress closely.”
If Salah did not make it to the first game, the team will be hoping that he manages to play against hosts Russia in the second group game on June 14 before clashing with Saudi Arabia in the ultimate group stage match on June 25.
The Liverpool winger joined his teammates in the last training session in Grozny before leaving to Yekaterinburg to prepare for their opening match.
“Salah took part in today’s training session like yesterday but he engaged more in today’s session,” he added. “His final status has not been decided yet and of course I can’t talk about details regarding his training with the team.”
