coach Hector Cuper has confirmed that the Pharaohs hitman has recovered for their first 2018 World Cup encounter against Uruguay.

Egypt will face Uruguay in their opening game of the 2018 World Cup in Group A on Friday, having witnessed the showpiece event’s opener between Russia and Saudi Arabia where the hosts secured the first three points after a historic 5-0 victory.

Salah has been recovering from the shoulder strain he sustained in the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid. According to the Argentine manager, the Premier League Player of the Year has reached full recovery ahead of the game.

“Salah has recovered, let’s see how things go in today’s training session but he is almost 100% ready for the tie,” Cuper said in the press conference.

“I thank all the players who brought us here to Russia. We are ready and we are in the most prestigious tournament. We won’t field Salah unless he is fully fit, he is a great person and everyone knows his ability, why wouldn’t he win the World Cup’s golden boot? He has all what it takes to do it.”

“I spent three years and three months along with the players and Egyptian FA and we made changes according to our opponents. Time is short so I won’t make changes, we have to be realistic. We are in a huge event and changing our playing style now won’t be easy.”
