Premier League 2018/19 fixtures: Elneny faces tough opener as Arsenal host Man City
The English Premier League fixtures for the 2018/19 season have been announced on Thursday with a tough opening match for Mohamed Elneny’s Arsenal.
Arsenal, who have Egypt international Mohamed Elneny within their ranks, will kick off the new season with a tough game against reigning champions Manchester City as they’ll host The Citizens on August 11. This will mark Unai Emery’s first competitive match as Gunners head coach before playing against Chelsea in the second week.
Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, who helped Liverpool secure a fourth place finish in the 2017/18 season, will start his second season with the Reds against West Ham at Anfield in the opening day. They’ll play against Crystal Palace in their second game on August 18.
Meanwhile, Ramadan Sobhi, who recently joined Huddersfield Town from relegated Stoke City, might make his official debut for his new club when they host Chelsea in their opener. Their second game of the season will be away against Manchester City.
The first Egyptian clash will be between Sobhi and Salah as Huddersfield host Liverpool in gameweek 9 on October 20, and will play the return fixture in gameweek 36 on April 27. Elneny and Salah will clash in gameweek 11 (November 3) and gameweek 20 (December 29), while Elneny and Sobhi will face off in gameweek 16 (December 8) and gameweek 26 (February 9).
