Ashraf Sobhi appointed new Egyptian Youth and Sports minister
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi has been appointed the new Egyptian Youth and Sports minister as Khaled Abdelaziz steps down from position in Egyptian cabinet changes.
Abdelaziz’s former assistant, Sobhi, was sworn in today to replace the the former’s position after almost six years in service. The announcement comes as part of a cabinet change in the Egyptian government.
The Egyptian national team managed to qualify to the 2018 World Cup for the first time in 28 years during Abdelaziz’s tenure and is set to take on Uruguay in the first match of Group A on Friday.
ِSobhi has a wide experience in the sporting field as he occupied the PR director role for Cairo giants Zamalek, before becoming the head of Cairo Stadium institution and then Egyptian Youth and Sports minister vice-director, where he stepped down in April 2016.
