Cuper announces Egypt starting line-up for Uruguay opener
Egypt head coach Hector Cuper has announced on Friday Egypt’s starting line-up that will face Uruguay in the 2018 World Cup.
The Pharaohs will kick off their World Cup campaign against Uruguay on Friday afternoon. They will then play against Russia on June 19, before facing Saudi Arabia on June 25 in their final Group A game.
Hosts Russia now top the group after they earned a big 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia in the tournament’s opener on Thursday.
Egypt’s squad will see Al Ahly keeper Mohamed El-Shennawy start between the sticks instead of veteran keeper Essam El-Hadary, who will remain on bench. Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who recovered from injury, wasn’t included in the starting lineup, with Amr Warda starting instead of him.

Defenders: Ahmed Fathi, Ali Gabr, Ahmed Hegazi, Mohamed Abdel-Shafy
Midfielders: Mohamed Elneny, Tarek Hamed, Amr Warda, Abdallah El-Said, Mahmoud Trezeguet
Forwards: Marwan Mohsen
