West Brom will not sign Ali Gabr on a permanent deal – Report
Ali Gabr joined Ahmed Hegazi’s West Brom back in January on loan until the end of the season but the 29-year-old haven’t featured at all for the first team, playing twice for the U-23s.
Ahmed Hegazi initially joined the Baggies on loan last summer before the club activated his £4.4m buyout clause back in December.
Unlike Hegazi, Gabr’s buyout clause will not be activated by West Brom in a report by the Express & Star. They had previously reported that West Brom have sent scouts to watch Ali Gabr play against Belgium in a friendly that ended in a 3-0 defeat for the Pharaohs.
Gabr will play a crucial role for Egypt in the 2018 World Cup having played in all friendlies leading to the tournament.
His partnership with Ahmed Hegazi at the back proved to be a solid one as they conceded only three goals in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) back in 2017.
