Cavani: I asked for Salah’s shirt, my children are crazy about him

striker has admitted that he asked for the shirt of star following the two teams games against each other in the 2018 World Cup.

Egypt fell to a 0-1 defeat in the final minutes of their match against Uruguay, the goal was scored by 23-year-old defender Jose Maria Gimenez.

Egypt’s star forward Mohamed Salah did not make an appearance despite speculation that he may be fit. Hector Cuper preferred to save the 2017/2018 Premier League top scorer for the games against Russia and Saudi Arabia.

“I took Salah’s shirt as a gift for my children, who also see him as a star,” Cavani told reporters after the game.

“A draw would have left a bitter taste because Uruguay deserved to win. We created a lot of chances, maybe without playing so well, but the Egypt goalkeeper and in a moment we all fell into the feeling that the ball did not want to enter.”

“We won and that is what matters. We are happy although we know that we have things to improve. Now we have to rest and think on Wednesday,” he concluded.
