Egypt suffered a last-gasp 1-0 defeat to Uruguay in their first Group A game at the 2018 World Cup on Friday afternoon.
The Pharaohs looked on their way to a 0-0 draw before Jose Maria Gimenez scored a header in the 89th minute to help his side collect their first win. Egypt now have zero points, while Uruguay and Russia, who defeated Saudi Arabia 5-0, are leveled on three points.
Egypt will next face a must-win against Russia on June 19, before playing their final group game against Saudi Arabia six days later.
