Egypt squad arrive in St. Petersburg ahead of Russia clash
The Pharaohs will play against hosts Russia in their second Group A game, after losing their opening game against Uruguay 1-0. Egypt currently have zero points, while Russia, who defeated Saudi Arabia 5-0, and Uruguay are levelled on three points.
The Egyptian squad trained at Grozny – the Pharaohs’ World Cup base – on Sunday morning before flying to St. Petersburg two days ahead of their must-win game against Russia. The training session witnessed the participation of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who has fully recovered from injury and is ready to represent the Pharaohs at the global showpiece event.
The Pharaohs will have their final training session at St. Petersburg on Monday night, one day before their second game. It will be held after Hector Cuper’s pre-match press conference.
Following the second game, the Pharaohs will return to Grozny, before they fly to Volgograd for their last group game against Saudi Arabia on June 25.
