Ihab Leheta: Mohamed Salah to start against Russia
The hosts are eyeing the three points to earn a place in the second round of the World Cup, while the Pharaohs must pick up at least a point to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Egypt played the entire Uruguay game without the services of their star player Mohamed Salah and Leheta assured the fans that the Liverpool winger will start against Russia.
“We are not worried about the refereeing. The game will put great pressure on the players, but we can not question the referees’ decisions or accuse them of being biased towards Russia,” Leheta said.
“We never put these matters into consideration and we will focus only on the game.
“Mohamed Salah is now fit and will start against Russia after he participated in two training sessions,” he added.
Russia currently top the group after their 5-0 win against Saudi Arabia, while Egypt sit third behind Uruguay, who managed to snatch a late 1-0 win against the Pharaohs.
The hosts will face Egypt on Tuesday, June 19 at 20:00 CLT, a day before Uruguay’s clash with Saudi Arabia.
