Mourinho predicts draw between Russia, Egypt
Egypt will line up against the World Cup hosts Russia in a crucial clash in Group A. The Pharaohs have conceded a dramatic last minute defeat against Uruguay with Jose Maria Gimenez’s glancing header, while Russia achieved a huge result in the World Cup’s opening game, defeating Saudi Arabia 5-0.
Hector Cuper’s men will have to win and grab the three points in order to maintain their hopes in qualifying to the following rounds.
“I think it will be a draw. If I have to choose for one of the three results I will go for a draw,” Mourinho told RT.
The 55-year-old coach had previously reckoned that Egypt won’t make it past the group stages, tipping Uruguay and Russia to progress to the second round.
