Ibrahimovic: Mohamed Salah had a fantastic year
Egypt missed the 26-year-old in their first World Cup tie against Uruguay. Salah fired 44 goals in all competitions for Liverpool this season and is considered the most important element in Hector Cuper’s Egyptian squad.
The LA Galaxy giant says Salah had a top season, yet argues the Pharaoh has to replicate his performance for a couple of more years to be considered among the best.
“He had a fantastic year, but all the big players put on great performances every year,” Ibrahimovic told beIN Sports satellite channel.
“For them it is normal. I want to see a second year like that [For Salah], when you talk about the top players that is what they do every season, that is why we have been in the game for 15 to 20 years.
“However he had a fantastic season, nobody can say otherwise and I hope he gets fit and participates in the World Cup, as I believe a lot people want to see him.”
It was announced that Salah is fit and will be starting the game against Russia at the Saint Petersburg Stadium on Tuesday.
