Egyptian star renewed his contract for one more year with French side Montpellier after claiming the EHF Champions League title.

Mamdouh moved to Montpellier last December to replace Ludovic Fabregas and managed to help his team win the European Handball Champions League after beating Nantes 32-26 in the final as he scored six goals.

The 29-year-old Pharaoh became the first Egyptian to ever win this trophy and his French side decided to extend his contract for one more season.

This is not the first French club for the former Zamalek player as he had a previous spell at Pays d’Aix, after he won the African Cup of Nations with the Egyptian national team.
