Luis Suarez scored ’s only goal as La Celeste defeated 1-0 in the second fixture of Group A in 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Saudi Arabia started off to a better start compared to their match against Russia, as Al-Akhdhar managed to buildup play and push Uruguay into their own half.

However, Uruguay took the lead in 22nd minute as Suarez tapped the ball into an empty net following a massive howler from Al-Akhdhar’s goalkeeper Mohamed Alowais.

Seconds before the half-time whistle, Saudi Arabia’s midfielder Taiseer Al -Jassem injured his hamstring and came off fro Hussain EL-Mogahwi.

Saudi Arabia tried to level things up in the second half, however, Levante’s Striker Fahad Al-Muwallad was caught up in offside.

Uruguay maintained strong defense and composure until the referee blew the fulltime whistle.

This result means that Both Egypt and Saudi Arabia are officially knocked out. Meanwhile, Russia and Uruguay qualified to the Round of 16.
