Amr Gamal scores first goal as Helsinki draw to KuPS at final stretch
Gamal joined Helsinki after Al Ahly gave their consent for him to complete his move to the Finland’s giants on loan last January after terminating his loan deal with South Africa’s Bidvest Wits.
The 26-year-old forward played 11 games in the Veikkausliiga this term with Helsinki and managed to score his first goal with the Finnish side at the death on his most recent appearance on Wednesday.
Gamal started the game from the bench and came on during the tie, precisely on the 63rd minute when his team was 2-1 down.
Al Ahly loanee took advantage of a poor save from KuPS goalkeeper and pounced on the ball to slot home and salvage a point for his side.
Gamal was left out of Egypt’s squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where the Pharaohs were knocked out from group stage.
