Chechnya president receives Egypt team, honours Mohamed Salah
Chechnya president Ramzan Kadyrov has invited the Egyptian national team on dinner on Friday, while honouring the Pharaohs’ star Mohamed Salah.
Egypt had lost to the hosts Russia 3-0 on June 19 in Saint Petersburg while Saudi Arabia were defeated 1-0 in the second fixture of Group A in 2018 FIFA World Cup against Uruguay, the results that mean that Both Egypt and Saudi Arabia are officially knocked out. Meanwhile, Russia and Uruguay qualified to the Round of 16.
The Egyptian national team accepted Kadyrov’s invitation to the squad on dinner at the Chechnya president’s presidential palace in Grozny as they wrap up their preparations to leave their base camp which saw the Pharaoh’s training during their participation in the 2018 World Cup.
Kadyrov also honoured Egypt and Liverpool hero Mohamed Salah during the event giving him the honourary Chechnyan citizenship.
The 41-year-old president previously hailed the Egyptian icon, calling him the best player in the world right now.
