KAA Gent announce signing of Ahmed Mostafa from Petrojet
Belgian side K.A.A. Gent have announced the signing of Egypt U-23 international Ahmed Mostafa from Petrojet on a three-year contract.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at El-Dakhelya, scoring three goals and assisting further two in 30 games, as he helped the club survive relegation as well as reach the Egypt Cup round of 16.
He becomes the third Egyptian player to join Gent after Ahmed Hossam Mido and Ahmed Salah Hosny, with both players playing a few number of games for the club.
Mido spent only one season at Gent, joining them from Zamalek in 2000 and managed to score 11 goals in 25 appearances, before moving to Ajax Amsterdam.
On the other hand, Salah Hosny joined the club in 2001 from German side VfB Stuttgart, scoring only four goals in 20 games, before returning to Al Ahly.
Gent will take part in the Europa League next season after finishing in fourth place in the Belgian Pro League, only seven points behind league winners Club Brugge.
