Areeg Rashed wins bronze in Mediterranean games
Egyptian karate player Areeg Rashed won the bronze medal in the -50kg karate women event in the Mediterranean games taking place in Tarragon, Spain.
Rashed finished in third place behind Jelena Milivojcevic from Serbia and Moroccan contestant Aicha Sayah.
The 24-year-old is the second Egyptian to win a medal in these games after shooter Afaf Elhodhod also won the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event.
She is currently the 80th on the women -50kg world ranking with 340 points.
