Zamalek sign Bahaa Magdy from Ismaily
Zamalek have signed Ismaily left back Bahaa Magdy following a strong season for the club capping of four seasons in Ismailia.
The 29 year old has made 96 appearances for Ismaily since joining in 2014, and most notably he has picked up an impressive 13 assists, including 5 assists and 1 goal in 31 appearances in the 2017-18 season as Ismaily finished in second place behind runaway leaders Al Ahly.
While Ismaily to Zamalek is traditionally an upwards move, in this instance it will mean that Magdy will miss out on the chance to play in the CAF Champions League in 2019 as Zamalek finished themost recent Egyptian Premier League season in 4th place, with just the top two qualifying for Africa’s biggest tournament.
The move continues Zamalek’s summer of signings which has already seen Emad El Sayed return to the club as well as the signing of another Ismaily player in Ibrahim Hassan.
Zamalek’s next scheduled game is in the Arab Club Championship against Al Qadsia on the 11th of August before the second leg against the same team three weeks later.
