OFFICIAL: Atlético Paranaense forward Lucas Ribamar to join Pyramids FC
The 21-year-old striker is set to join Pyramids FC for a fee understood to be around £3.60m, becoming their second Brazilian signing following the capture of ‘Keno’ from Palmeiras.
Ribamar has started his career at Botafogo, netting once goals in 12 appearances, before moving to German side 1860 Munich for a fee of £2.25m, becoming their record signing.
The German outfit thought they had secured the bargain of the decade, however, Ribamar failed to score any goal in four appearances, before returning to his homeland after only one season, signing with Atletico Paranaense.
During his time at Atletico Paranaense, Ribamar managed to score five goals while providing one assist in 24 games and featured for his former side at Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores.
Former Botafogo manager Alberto Valentim is also close to taking charge of the club as new owner Turki Al Sheikh wants to challenge Al Ahly and Zamalek for the Egyptian Premier League title.
The Saudi millionaire has recently taken over Al Assiouty, renaming the club to Pyramids FC, and has already made a number of major signings, including Mohamed Farouk, and Keno.
Zamalek’s chairman Mortada Mansour has also announced that Ali Gabr and Tarek Hamed will both join FC Pyramids.
