OFFICIAL: Pyramids FC sign Ismaily midfielder Mohamed Fathi

have announced the signing of 24-year-old Ismaily midfielder as their sixth signing this transfer window.

A product of the Yellow Dragons’ youth system, Fathi moved to the first team ahead of the 2014/15 season. He has played 109 games for Ismaily, 99 in the Egyptian Premier League and 10 in the Cup. Fathi also scored four goals and assisted one other in his time with the first team and was an integral part of the squad that finished in second place behind Al Ahly last season.

The announcement comes a few hours after the club’s press conference where Brazilian manager Alberto Valentin was announced as the head coach of the former Al Assiouty Club. Hady Khashaba will stay with the newly named club as the director of football, while Egypt legend Ahmed Hassan will join as the club’s official spokesperson.

Even prior to the press conference earlier on Thursday, Pyramids had made five signings, including Brazilian duo Lucas Ribamar and Marcos da Silva França ‘Keno’, El Dakhleya forward Naser Mansi, Arab Contractors striker Mohamed Farouk, and Syrian defender Omar Al Midani.

In addition to being a football/soccer and basketball enthusiast, I am currently pursuing a combined BS/MD degree at VCU. I also currently work as a Pharmacy Technician in my spare time.
