OFFICIAL: Dakhleya right back Amir Abed joins Smouha
Smouha SC chairman Farag Amer has announced the signing of Dakhleya’s right back Amir Abed on a five-year contract.
Egyptian Premier League perennial campaigners decided to sign Amir Abed to replace Ragab Bakar, who moved to Pyramids FC.
Abed featured in 33 league matches last season with Dakhleya and was able to make two assists, helping his former side survive relegation.
The club recently started enforcing their squad as they welcomed Ugandan International striker Derrick Nsibambi from Kampala City and Zambian international Brian Mwila from Super League side Buildcon.
They will hope to return to the African competitions after missing out the last two seasons. Smouha finished fifth last season, 10 points behind fourth-placed Zamalek.
The Alexandrian side is expected to be a fierce competitor next season, especially after their Egypt Cup campaign last season in which they’ve reached the final match against Zamalek, before losing 5-4 on penalties.
