Pyramids rumoured to sign Mohamed Awad from Ismaily
Following Turki Al Sheikh’s takeover of the club previously named Assiouty, there have been rumours that Pyramids FC will add a solid goalkeeper to their ranks in the form of Mohamed Awad.
The speculation has started largely because of a promotional video for their upcoming friendly against Zimbru Chisinau posted to Twitter by the club’s official account which appears to show Awad in a Pyramids kit.

The news comes as something of a surprise as Awad appeared to be heading to Saudi Professional League club Al Wehda on a one-year loan.
The 25-year-old was among the best goalkeepers in the Egyptian Premier League last season and as a result broke into the Egypt national team in the last few months, although he did not make an appearance at the tournament as Hector Cuper opted for more experienced hands in the form of Mohamed El Shennawy and Egypt legend Essam El Hadary.
Awad’s future remains to be seen as Pyramids FC will continue preparations for the upcoming Egyptian Premier League season in which they will be making their debut under their current branding.
