Sherif Reda joins Smouha from Pyramids FC
Pyramids FC midfielder Sherif Reda has joined Egyptian Premier League side Smouha on a five-year deal, the club announced on Sunday.
The 21-year-old player becomes the second player to join the Alexandrian club from Pyramids FC, formerly known as Assiouty Sport. Namibia striker Benson Shilongo joined the Alexandria-based team from the re-branded club earlier on Sunday.
Few days earlier, Smouha defender Abdallah Bakri joined Pyramids FC.
Smouha finished the Egyptian Premier League 2017/18 season in fifth place and reached the Egypt Cup final after beating Assiouty 4-3 on penalties. They, however, lost to Zamalek in the final.
Meanwhile, Pyramids FC was recently acquired by chairman of Saudi Sports Authority Turki Al-Sheikh. Since the acquisition, the club announced the signing of a number of players including Mohamed Farouk from Arab Contractors, Brazilian duo Lucas Ribamar, Marcos da Silva França ‘Keno’ and Syria international defender Omar Midani. They also named Brazilian manager Alberto Valentim as the club’s new head coach.
