Maradona: Ramos should have been banned from football for 2 years

Diego Armando Maradona believes should have been banned from football for two years after his challenge on Liverpool star .

The living football legend spoke to Sky Sports about the incident between Ramos and Salah in the Champions League final last May and believes Ramos got away with the incident only because he is a Real Madrid player.

“Ramos should have been banned from football for two years,” said Maradona.

“He intentionally injured Salah, UEFA didn’t take any action only because he is a Real Madrid player, if it had been a Barcelona player FIFA might have taken an action. Real Madrid is a very strong team in Europe.”

Salah was forced off the field only 30 minutes into the UEFA Champions League final after a heavy challenge from Ramos. The 32-year-old defender hooked the Egypt international by the arm and the latter landed on his left shoulder before leaving the field in tears to be replaced by Adam Lallana.

Liverpool appeared toothless without Salah and Real Madrid claimed their third consecutive title with a 3-1 victory.

The Spanish defender sent Salah a message after the incident wishing him a healthy comeback and assured him it wasn’t intentional, yet the Egyptian King’s response was more sarcastic than heartfelt.

Following the injury, Salah was not fully fit in the World Cup for Egypt as the Pharaohs failed to grab any point in the competition, yet the 26-year-old netted two goals to equal the record of Egypt’s all time leading scorer AbdelRahman Fawzi.

Well i never thought i would ever agree with Maradonna. But i feel he has a point. I look at it like this. Did he foul Salah? Of course he did! Was it intentional? Yes means a straight red. No means a yellow card. Did he elbow Karius? Yes he did. Was it deliberate? Yes means a straight red. No means a yellow card. Two yellows equals a red. How did he stay on the pitch. The word farce comes to mind.

The fact Real Madrid have not been held aloft shoulder high for winning three european cups in a row is because the win was tainted by the actions of Ramos. He took out Salah with a malicious foul intent on injuring another professional. He also elbowed Karius in the head in an off the ball incident that caused the GK to suffer a concussion. Still not seen the reverse camera angle for the footage. If we do see it i would expect the Real Madrid players with integrity to return their winners medals. The fact the achievement on paper has been brushed aside says it all.

Because you r bitter losers, let’s face it. Even though Salah would have remained on the pitch Liverpool lacks the peregrine and mental strength to beat Real. So stop winning.

True, S. Ramos intentionally fouled Mo Salah for he chose to wrestle holding onto Salah’s arm without attempting to play the ball. The Referee was a shame for not punishing Ramos nor stopping play for a foul for such dangerous play that ended Salah’s & Liverpool’s UCL final as well as curtailing Egypt’s performance at the FWC 2018. I’m happy that Spain (Ramos, Isco, Asensio etc) & Portugal (Ronaldo) etc have exited the FWC and Ramos shed tears – just like Mo Salah did on that fateful night!

Yes, Ramos is a cheat. He rolled Mo because he knew he would not be able to contain him for 90 minutes.Priceless was him crying like a baby and he is going home. SPAIN ARE GOING ON THE PLANE! They can watch the final from home. Deserved!!! Karma is a bitch ( and so is Ramos)!

Maradona is just insulting himself.. Ramos might do it due to his chance and experience in football but maradona comparing Barcelona is not right… After all Barcelona robs matches alot..A legend like him shouldn’t be entering in issues like this..he’s bringing his dignity down

Maradona was using cocaine to play football in his playing days..he wasn’t banned for two years..he now wants Ramos to be banned. Maradona is supposed to be banned for life but FIFA never did…if you leave in a glass house please don’t throw stones…hahahahaha

Maradona is still in the influence of drugs. He is a fool. How can Ramos be banned for two years? He needs to shut up if he has nothing knowledgeable to say.

You should take the same advice then. You choose to insult the man personally rather than explaining why his statement is wrong, shows how mature you are.
