Turki Al-Sheikh to drop lawsuits against Al Ahly board
Chairman of Saudi Sports Authority Turki Al-Sheikh has announced that he will drop all lawsuits against Al Ahly board.
Al-Sheikh was appointed as the Red Devils’ honorary president in December after he pledged to support Al Ahly financially and contribute, along with a number of Arab investors, in the construction of the club’s stadium.
In May, Al-Sheikh stepped down from his position, citing a number of problems with the Al Ahly board and announced he’ll file lawsuits against the club’s board. He, however, went back on his decision, saying he forgave Al Ahly president Mahmoud El-Khatib.
“In the past few months, especially in the last two days, I’ve been receiving a lot of calls from people who wanted to exploit my problems with Al Ahly and cause more damage to the club,” Al-Sheikh said in an interview with Sada El-Balad satellite channel.
“This is why I announce that I’ll drop any lawsuits against Al Ahly or Mahmoud El-Khatib.”
Al-Sheikh added that he doesn’t want to cause any problems to Al Ahly or any other Arab team.
“I forgave Mahmoud El-Khatib and I forgot all what happened,” Sheikh added, saying that he’s still willing to invest in the projects he previously agreed on with the club’s board.
