Al Ahly to file lawsuit against Portuguese manager Jose Gomes
Al Ahly have announced they initiated a procedure to sue former Al Ahli and Rio Ave manager Jose Gomes after the Portuguese failed to respect his agreement with the club.
Al Ahly had agreed terms with Gomes in June to take over as their new manager after the resignation of Hossam El-Badry, before the Red Devils postponed their new manager announcement after they surprisingly received a call from the expected new coach informing the club that he is stepping down from accepting the club’s proposal due to family issues.
Few days later Al Ahly announced they have appointed French coach Patrice Carteron to take over the first team for the upcoming two seasons.
Al Ahly stated in an official statement the transfer of 5000 Swiss franc to the lawyer who will take a legal action against Gomes in addition to filing a complaint to FIFA, in order to retain the club’s rights according to the contract’s terms and conditions.
