Zamalek announce backroom staff for new manager Christian Gross
Zamalek have announced the backroom staff that is set to work with new manager Christian Gross for the upcoming 2018/19 season.
The Swiss manager’s appointment was announced by Zamalek on Tuesday and this comes two months after the club initially announced Gross back in April but the deal broke down in its final stages.
Zamalek had a disappointing 2017-18 season, as the club ended their league campaign in fourth place, just missing out on a CAF Champions League spot.
Gross is set to face an uphill task of guiding the White Castle back to competing for league titles as they had last won it in 2015 with former manager Jesualdo Ferreira.
On their official website, Zamalek announced the new staff members in assistant manager Pierre-André Schürmann, goalkeeping coach Thomas Grüter and trainer Bouziane Benaraïba.
It’s worth mentioning that Bouziane Benaraïba worked with Christian Gross during their time together at Al Ahli Jeddah.
Christian Gross’ first match with the White Knights will be at the Arab Championship against Saudi side Al-Qadisiyah on August 11th.
