Al Ahly draws with Olimpjia Ljubljana in first pre-season friendly
Al Ahly draws 1-1 with Slovenian side, NK Olimpjia Ljubljana in their first pre-season friendly of the club’s training camp in Croatia.
The Slovenian side were awarded a penalty in the 50th minute, after the ball touched Saad Samir’s hand, and managed to take the lead after the striker sent Ekramy to the wrong side.
In the 68th minute, the Reds’ striker Salah Mohsen managed to score a goal, however, it was cancelled as Junior Ajayi was in an offside position.
Three minutes later, Walid Soliman managed to level up the game after receiving the ball in the box amongst the defenders, and smashed it into the net.
Al Ahly’s new manager Patrice Carteron made several changes during the game that include: Ahmed Yasser, Mohamed Sherief, Mido Gaber, Hesham Mohamed replacing Walid Soliman, Junior Ajayi, Momen Zakaria, and Salah Mohsen respectively.
The French manager also gave a chance for both goalkeepers, Sherief Ekramy and Mohamed El-Shenawy to both play in the match.
Al Ahly is currently preparing for their upcoming Champions League clash against Botswanian side, Towniship Rollers FC, on July 17th in Egypt.
