Bassem Morsi discusses ambitions following AE Larissa move
The 26-year-old has spoken out about his ambitions at AE Larissa, confirming that he aims to win trophies during his first season in Greece.
“Hopefully we [the players] will help the club succeed during this season. Of course, I’m really happy to be here and it’s an honor to be a part of this club,” Morsi said during his presentation to the press.
“I hope that we’ll win trophies this year. We’ll try to put our team on the right track to try and win trophies. I also want to thank the club president who made a lot of effort to bring me here.
“Hopefully I’m going to live up to your expectations. I want to thank my friends [the players] and hopefully we’ll able to play well as a group to succeed,” he concluded.
Morsi became Larissa’s ninth transfer during this transfer window. Algerian center-forward Samy Frioui also joined the club on a free transfer from Algeria’s USM Blida.
Larissa, who won the league title only once in 1988, haven’t managed to qualify for a European competition since 2010, when they were knocked out of the qualifying rounds of the Europa League by Iceland’s KR Reykjavík.
