Mohamed Hany insists Al Ahly stand a chance in Champions League

Al Ahly right back believes that his team is well prepared and motivated during their pre-season training camp in Croatia as they await the crucial encounter against Township Rollers in CAF Champions League this month.

Al Ahly had a sloppy start to their Champions League campaign after a home 1-1 draw against Esperance Sportive de Tunis followed by a shocking 0-2 defeat to KCCA FC in the second round of group stage.

The Red Devils sit in the bottom of Group A with one point from two games and hope to recover ground starting from their crucial clash against South Africa’s Township Rollers on July 17.

Hany said Al Ahly’s chances to qualify from their group remain good and that the team is used to facing difficulties, confirming that each player grasps the responsibility he holds.

“Al Ahly players have enough experience to adapt quickly to Carteron’s ideas. Al Ahly players’ mentality is different and is capable of overcoming difficulties in short time. I am lucky to compete with Ahmed Fathi and Bassem Ali, their presence improves me constantly,” Hany told Al Ahly’s official website.

“I have won five titles with Al Ahly and I aim to win more in the coming period, the presence in a club of Al Ahly’s posture helps any player to make achievements and I also desire to represent Egypt in the near future through my performances with the club.”
