Algeria international Benrahma joins Brentford
The 22 year old had broken through at Nice several years ago, however in recent seasons he has spent most of the time on loan at lower league French sides such as Angers, Gazelec Ajaccio and Chateauroux.
His early form on the French Riviera, in which he scored three league goals, saw the winger earn a call up to an Algeria side who were fairly fresh off of the success of the 2014 World Cup in which the Fennec Foxes reached the round of 16 before stumbling to a famous extra time defeat to Germany.
Benrahma’s solitary Algeria apperance came as a substitute in a 1-0 friendly win over Senegal in September 2015, as well as being an unused substitute in games around the same time in a friendly against Guinea as well as two World Cup qualifiers against Tanzania.
Benrahma will be hoping that the move to West London can rejuvenate his international career playing in the same league as fellow international Adlene Guedioura of Nottingham Forest.
The Algerian’s four year contract will start against newly promoted Rotherham United at Griffin Park on the 4th of August at 4PM Egyptian time.
