Amr Gamal returns to Al Ahly after HJK Helsinki loan deal ends

Amr Gamal returns to Al Ahly after HJK Helsinki loan deal ends
Al Ahly forward has returned to his parent club after his loan deal with Finnish side  came to an end.

The 26-year-old joined the Finnish giants on loan last March, scoring one goal while assisting further one in 15 appearances across all competitions.

He will return to Al Ahly for the first time since August 2017, as he spent the first half of the season on loan at South African side Bidvest Wits, before cutting his loan deal short.

Amr Gamal played only 329 minutes with the Bidvest Wits, where he managed to help the team lift the Telkom Knockout Cup, scoring three goals as well as assisting the winning goal against Bloemfontein Celtic in the final.

Gamal’s future at the Red Devils is still uncertain, espcially after Mamelodi Sundowns manager Pitso Mosimane confirmed his side’s interest in the player and refused to rule out a possible move for him.

His last game with Al Ahly was against Al Masry in the 2017 Egypt Cup final, where Gamal managed to score and assist two late goals, which guided the Red Devils to the title.

Should he continue at Al Ahly, Gamal will become the club’s fourth striker alongside Marwan Mohsen, Salah Mohsen, and Walid Azaro, with the latter close to joining Chinese side Hebei China Fortune.
