RSB midfielder Lahcen Akhmis passes away aged 30
Former Renaissance Sporting Berkane and Moroccan midfielder Lahcen Akhmis tragically passed away at the age of 30 after a fatal car accident on Friday.
Akhmis, whose contract with Berkane expired, was on his way to sign with Moroccan rivals Chabab Rif Al Hoceima, according to coach Mounir Jaouani, who was interviewd by Sport24info.
Akhmis played with RSB Berkane since January 2014 and previously played for Wydad Fes, Olympique Khouribga, and Rachad Bernoussi.
The late midfielder had featured in 12 games for RSB in Morocco’s Botola Pro 2017/2018 season, where he scored a single goal and assisted another one all season. He made a total of 85 appearances in the league, scoring nine goals on club level throughout his career.
