John Barnes believes Salah can still leave Liverpool
After winning the Golden Boot for his 32 Premier League goals last season, the Egyptian King signed a long-term deal with Liverpool until 2023. However Barnes believes it is not guaranteed for Salah to stay at Anfield with all the transfers in the market.
“Salah signing a new contract doesn’t mean that Liverpool are no longer a selling club,” Barnes told the Daily Star.
“Every club is a selling club. If Real Madrid offered £200m for Salah then he’d go and Liverpool would then be a selling club.
“Cristiano Ronaldo might be leaving Real Madrid, Robert Lewandowski could leave Bayern Munich. Neymar could leave PSG as well so even the biggest clubs in the world are selling clubs.”
According to a number of reports, Real Madrid’s icon Cristiano Ronaldo is on the verge of leaving the club and moving to Juventus in the Serie A, which means the Spanish giants could be in the hunt for a number of star players this summer.
“But what the new contract means is that Salah is committed to Liverpool and wants to stick around and see how far they can go,” he added.
