HANDBALL: Egypt lose to Paraguay, finish last in Junior World Championship
Egypt have suffered another defeat in the Women’s Junior World Championship but this time to Paraguay to finish in the 23rd place in the tournament.
After finishing bottom of their group with Zero points following heavy defeats to Spain, France, Croatia, Germany, and Sweden, Egypt had to play against Paraguay in order to secure a spot in the 21st place playoff against China
However, they suffered another defeat in the tournament, which meant they will finish in 23rd place [the lowest position in the tournament].
The Egyptians tried keeping in touch with the Paraguayans in the first-half, which finished with one goal advantage to the South American side with a scoreline of 12-13.
Paraguay managed to extend their lead massively in the second-half, finishing the game with an eight-goal difference with a scoreline of 31-23.
Paraguay are set to meet China to determine who finishes in the 21st position, meanwhile, Egypt concluded their disappointing World Championship campaign, losing all of their games.
The tournament takes place in Debrecen, Hungary from 1 to 14 July, and this participation is the second in Egypt’s history after they finished 20th in 2016.
