Smouha keeper El-Mahdy Soliman joins Pyramids FC
After Smouha chairman Mohamed Farag Amer said that the negotiations between the two clubs collapsed as Pyramids haven’t met his asking price, the newly rebranded side have finally signed the goalie and announced the completion of the deal over their social media accounts.
The clubs, however, haven’t announced the financial details of the deal.
Since joining the Alexandrian-based club in 2014 from Ghazl El-Mahalla, the 31-year-old keeper made 88 appearances with Smouha. Soliman had a number of spells at other Egyptian Premier League clubs as he previously played for Petrojet, ENPPI and Arab Contractors.
Soliman is expected to be joined by Zamalek keeper Ahmed El-Shennawy at Pyramids as White Castle chairman Mortada Mansour stated that the 27-year-old keeper will be moving to the recently rebranded club.
Pyramids FC were recently acquired by chairman of Saudi Sports Authority Turki Al-Sheikh. Since the acquisition, the club announced the signing of a number of players including Mohamed Farouk from Arab Contractors, Brazilian duo Lucas Ribamar, Marcos da Silva França ‘Keno’, Syria international defender Omar Midani and Zamalek’s Ali Gabr and Ahmed Tawfik.
