Smouha have completed the signing of promising Guinea U20 international striker Yamodou Touré.

The striker gained prominence at the U20 African Cup of Nations in 2017 as he put in wonderful performances to lead Guinea to the World Cup. He also scored Guinea’s equalizer against Egypt in the group stages. As a result of his performances, Touré was named as one of the substitutes of the best eleven from the tournament.

A product of Horoya AC’s youth system, Touré moved to Anderlecht’s reserve team in the 2017 summer transfer window. Before signing for Smouha, he was also heavily linked with and had a trial with STVV.

The signing comes as Smouha have lost star keeper El-Mahdy Soliman to newly named Pyramids FC. However, the club has recently made two signings, keeper Essam Tharwat and midfielder Sherif Reda both from Pyramids.

The young striker landed in Alexandria on Wednesday and will sign a three-year deal with the Alexandria-based club. Touré can potentially make his debut for his new team when Smouha face Misr El-Makkasa in the first week of the Egyptian Premier League.
