Zamalek transfer news roundup: Sassi, Hamed, El Shennawy & Fathi
Zamalek look set to be subject to an active transfer window as they may be signing Tunisia international Ferjani Sassi, while Ahmed El Shennawy and Mostafa Fathi appear to be on their way to Pyramids FC.
Al Nassr holding midfielder Ferjani Sassi may be on his way to Zamalek as they look to reinforce their midfield. A large factor in the decision may be the future of Tarek Hamed who recently appeared to be heading for Pyramids FC, however there are now rumours circulating that he may be staying at the White Knights instead.
Someone who could make the move from Zamalek to Pyramids FC is Egypt international goalkeeper Ahmed El Shennawy. The 27 year old has been at Zamalek since his initial loan move from Al Masry in 2013, and may be looking for a change of scenery as he looks to reignite his career and claim his place as Egypt’s number one having not been called up for the 2018 World Cup squad.
Potentially joining El Shennawy at Pyramids FC is Mostafa Fathi, who has been plying his trade most recently at Al Taawoun in Saudi Arabia alongside Egypt’s legendary goalkeeper Essam El Hadary. Fathi was once touted as a future national team star and will also be looking to give his career a new lease of life in Turki El Sheikh’s latest project.
